Creating a New Blog Post and Home Page Image

It's Fight the Fall season and your marketing team is here to support you in turnkey promotional strategies in all areas of your marketing. In this article, I'll cover setting up the Fight the Fall featured blog content and the Fight the Fall image for the home page of your website. Watch the video to see the step-by-step process of posting on your blog as well as how and where to access the blog article and images.

Blog Post

First off, we want to be sure you have your blog post up. Having your blog post up and live will give you a place to point your fight the Fall promotional traffic to, whether it is from an email, graphic on your home page, or paid ads.

  1. Log in to FYZICAL College at http://fyzicalcollege.westnetmlp.com
  2. Click on the large button at the bottom that reads, “FYZICAL LIBRARY”
  3. On the next screen, Choose “Marketing” on the menu on the left.
  4. Scroll down until you see “5. National Campaign – Fight the Fall
  5. Next, choose “Website”
  6. Download the image titled, “A - Fight the Fall Featured Blog Article Image.jpg” and the document, “A - Fight the Fall Featured Blog Article.docx” to your hard drive
  7. Open the document “A - Fight the Fall Featured Blog Article.docx” and below the blog text, you will find a big block of code. Select all of that code with your cursor and copy it.
  8. Log in to your website at https://client.patientsites.com and enter your email and password.
  9. In the top menu, choose “Blog”
  10. Click the teal “Create Post” button
  11. Type in the Title of the Blog Post in the “Page Name” field and choose today’s date.
  12. On the line where your new article resides, go over to the right side and click on the edit button that looks like a pencil and paper.
  13. Once in the blog editor, in the formatting menu, click on the source code “< >” at the end of the second row.
  14. Paste the source code into the window and click the “Okay” button at the bottom.
  15. Once the window is closed, click on the green “Save” button near the date.
  16. Once saved, go to the “News page Media” on the left side menu and open. Choose “add new media file”
  17. Choose Add new “image”, the click the “Choose File” button
  18. Select the file, “A - Fight the Fall Featured Blog Article Image” then, click “go”
  19. The thumbnail of the image will appear on the right. Just under the image click on the tiny icon of the camera. This will show the image next to your blog article on your /blog page.
  20. Lastly, after saving your blog article, click on the “Back to list” link in the upper right corner of your blog editor window.

On your blog list page, select the box in the “Display” column and go over to the right side of the screen and save the setting by clicking the disk icon.

Home Page Fight the Fall Featured Image

  1. In FYZICAL Library, download the image, “B - Fight the Fall Featured Home Page Image.jpg” (follow steps 1 – 5 above to locate the image)
  2. Log in to your website at https://client.patientsites.com and enter your email and password.
  3. In Company Content, choose to edit the Home page.
  4. Just to the left of the Home Page content editor, you will see a box with an image in it. Within that box, click on “Change image” and find the image, “B - Fight the Fall Featured Home Page Image.jpg” that you just downloaded to your hard drive.
  5. I highly recommend that you link this image to your Fight the Fall blog article you have just posted in the previous instructions for Blog Post. To do so, go onto your website and click over to Blog and select your Fight the Fall blog article. Copy the URL in the address bar of your browser. This is where you want the image on the home page to link directly to.
  6. Paste the link to the Fight the Fall blog article in the “Image link” field of the home page image editor.
  7. Click the green “Save” button
  8. The image should now be switched replaced and it should be linked to your blog article.
  9. Go to your home page and test the link.
