How to Use Lead Boxes Pop-Ups
Lead Boxes are pop-ups. You've experienced pop-ups online for the last 20 years. A pop-up or pop-over is a small window with some kind of offer a call-to-action to enter - at its most basic, simply your email address.
There are best practices to it. Here are a couple of tips I recommend.
- Keep the Call-to-Action on your lead box relevant to the page the visitor is on. Don't place an ankle pain pop-up on a back pain page. Why are they there? They have lower back pain. Offer them something to help them get a small "result in advance". This builds trust in you being the source of help for them.
- Keep it simple.
- Headline (draw attention the the condition)
- Subheadline the promise of the free offer or event
- Image of the thing they are about to get
- Name and email address
You can also request a name, first and last name, phone number, etc. * Keep in mind that the more you ask, the higher the barrier of entry for visitors. So, keep the information you are requesting to a minimum. A happy medium is first name and "primary" email address. Asking for their "primary email address" is saying that you want their most-used email address rather than one they use for spammy emails.
